The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) together with Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) will on Monday the 11th March launch a new project aimed at ending HIV infections among babies in Uganda, and prolonging the lives of their HIV positive mothers.

According to the statement supplied to the media the launch will be held at Serena Hotel in Kampala and will be presided over by the director general medical services in the ministry of Heal Dr Jane Ruth Aceng together with Dr. Sharad Sapra UNICEF representative in Uganda

The collaboration will complement the already-existing Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission (PMTCT) of HIV interventions in the country, to ensure that children born to HIV positive mothers remain free from the virus, while their mothers live long enough to bring them up.
