Uhuru Kenyatta has won the Kenya presidential elections 2013 beating his closest rival, Raila Odinga.
Kenyatta won the vote with 6,173,433 votes which gave him a 50.03% lead. That helped the son of the First Kenyan president to avoid a runoff since he needed to have a percentage which is higher than 50. His closet rival Raila Odinga got 5,340,546 votes
Kenyatta, belonging to the Jubilee party has been in the lead ever since the vote counting started on Monday evening. However, Odinga, from the Cord political party has been following closely behind.
Odinga managed to scoop the results from out of the country ranging from Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and Burundi. However, back home, Kenyatta remains everyone’s favorite.
With the win, Kenyatta becomes the fourth president of the republic of Kenya ever since attaining independence in 1963.
