A team of members of parliament which monitored the recent Kenya general elections is ready to table a report at the floor of parliament indicating the findings.

According to Hon Mathias Kasamba who was the leader of the delegation, their report is ready to be presented at the floor of parliament.

He says, the report indicates that the elections were generally peaceful and the political atmosphere allowed many candidates for all electoral posts to debate and defend their policies to the public.

Mr Kasamba also said that there was high turn up of voters including the elderly, women, youth and people with disability adding that the elections were conducted in peaceful transparent and credible manner.

In the spirit of  the East African integration, the observers in their report commended the peaceful manner in which Kenya general elections were conducted.

The observers in their report also commended the people of Kenya for the enthusiasm  for the elections and voter turn up.

“We also  appreciate the the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) and  other relevant agencies such as political parties and other stakeholders for the successful conduct of the elections” One of the observers said

Eight candidates participated in the 2013 Kenya general elections of which Uhuru Kenyatta 51, emerged winner.
