By Martha Nakimuli

Teachers have attacked government over its failed promise on increasing their salaries.

The chairperson of the Uganda Teachers’ Association Margaret Rwabushaija  says even the salary of last month has not  been paid.

President Museveni  promised to increase the salaries of the teachers after they went on strike and demanded for 100% increase.

Government however pledged to increase the teachers salaries by 15% in this  financial year and 50% in three years.

Teachers have maintained their demand for salary increment ,arguing that the cost of living is too high and they can not sustain themselves with the little money government pays them.
