Over 200 residents of Namulanda and Kawuku in Entebbe held a demonstration on Friday in protest of continued failure by a local investor to provide them with jobs as he had promised them earlier.
The angry residents say, they were promised jobs by the owner of Paroma enterprises limited a company that manufacturers cosmetics following huge and loud advertising in the area.
The residents said that they were disappointed to see that the local investor Francis Bukenya was asking for money to give them jobs, a claim the investor denies saying he was able to employ only 30 workers out of the many who expressed interest in getting jobs.
He also urged government to put much emphasis on assisting small medium enterprises in the country since they are herb to the rampant unemployment in the country.
