Police in Kyampisi sub county Mukono district has rescued a 57 year old man from being lynched by  angry residents  who accused him of  possessing evil spirits which are causing suffering in their village.

It is alleged that Rajab Buuzabalyawo bought the evil spirits which residents are accusing of stealing their money, making them sick, bringing bad luck in their businesses and other  forms of suffering.

Trouble began when one of the resident’s family members got sick and hired a sheik whose prayers made the evil spirits to talk screaming for forgiveness and revealed that they were brought by one Buuzabalyawo.

This raised their anger, became wild and went directly to the accused’s home but fortunately police arrived in time and saved him plus his property from being destroyed.
