By Martha Nakimuli

Fishermen in Rakai district have accused the marine police of being involved in illegal fishing even if they were entrusted with monitoring  crime on the lake.

The fishermen  revealed this during their  meeting with in  law enforcement officers led by Mr Kenneth Mbaziira, following the impounding of three trucks of immature fish at Kasensero landing site last week.

One of the fishermen told the enforcers that  members of the marine police unit deliberately refused to impound trucks loaded with immature fish because the fish was theirs.
