Raila Odinga is going to file the election petition today in the Kenya Supreme Court opposing the Kenya election results from the presidential elections 2013 which saw Uhuru Kenyatta win the presidency.

odinga railaOdinga accuses the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) of conspiring to rig the votes with Kenyatta’s TNA party. According to James Orengo, a senior official in Odinga’s CORD coalition, his party is going to allege fraud during the elections. “We are going to allege fraud. There was collusion between the IEBC and TNA. They entered into some sort of fraudulent enterprise and we are going to be able to show that,” he said.

The election result vote counting was marred by technological problems but the IEBC has called the vote credible, so did the international observers.

Odinga seeks to nullify Kenyatta’s victory in a close runoff of the March 4th elections. Orengo said: “All the way from the polling stations to the constituency level with the returning officer right up to the national tallying centre.”

This is the second time Odinga has lost to his opposition, the first being five years ago when he lost to out going president, Mwai Kibaki.
