The Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi is appearing before the Public Accounts of Parliament .
Mababazi was summoned to appear before the PAC  committee together with the First Lady Janet Museveni to explain their involvement in the misuse of PRDP funds meant to develop Northern Uganda.

The MPs want  the Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi to explain circumstances surrounding the acquisition of his official brand new Mercedes Benz. The auditor general’s report  presented to parliament on PRDP funds showed that over 600 million shillings of PRDP money was used to buy the state of the art Benz.

Mbabazi will also  answer  why he blocked the transfer of Geoffrey Kazinda the Prime suspect in the scam, from the Office of the Prime Minister.

Mbabazi  arrived at the PAC committee at around 10:00am to be grilled by PAC members.

Tomorrow  the First Lady will also appear at the committee.According to the  auditor general’s report ,the first lady used 143.6 million shillings on overseas trips, including nine to Israel in one month.

It was also revealed that part of the foreign aid OPM received for northern Uganda and Karamoja was instead spent on buying luxurious vehicles for ministers in the department.
