Pope Francis’ first call to the Vatican receptionist was thought to be a prank call.

As a pope, he is not expected to make a direct call but that is exactly what he did. Pope Francis is known to be informal and though to be a rather down to earth kind of guy. Well, it did not sit well with the receptionist.

Pope FrancissThe Vatican receptionist thought it was a prank and replied to the call, “Oh, yes? And I’m Napoleon.”

He had to work to convince the man he was the real pope, no kidding. He made the call wanting to be connected with Adolfo Nicolas, the superior general of his old Jesuit order, according to the Daily Mail. “I really am Pope Francis. Do not worry, Andreas, just connect me with Father General, I would like to thank him for the charming letter.”

According to a Vatican expert, pope’s calls are done through his secretary.

During his first dinner after the election, he told the gathered cardinals, “May god forgive you” for choosing me.
