Today, Lord Mayor, Erias Lukwago was supposed to hold a rally but police are against it saying it is not the right time to put up a rally.
Police has now camped at his home in Rubaga to prevent him from leaving his home to go and hold the rally. Luwkago confirmed the police presence at his home but has said he is supposed to carry out his job, not sit at home.
Lukwago pointed out that he too received a letter to attend the prayers today for the first deputy prime minister, Eriya Kategaya which is supposed to take place at Kololo. He intends to attend the prayers.
Police says they have camped at Lukwago’s home after receiving information that the rally he was going to hold would have disruptions and just want to keep him from keeping an offense.
Lukwago was supposed to hold a rally today in Kawempe.
