By Emmanuel Omona PaOkech

Rev. Father David Okello Opiru of the Holy Rosary Chapel has announced plans to expand the Holy Rosary Church which he says would cost 300 Million shillings.

Holy Rosary church is one of the churches built in 1900’s by the Church Missionaries in Acholi sub region.

Now, the church has become very small because of the ever growing population in Gulu district.

Father Okello said that the current size of the church can no longer accommodate the increasing number of Christians within the town.

He says most Christians get soaked by rain whenever it rains because of lack of space for them inside.

The Holy Rosary Church Priest explains that they are seeking views on the expansion of the church from Christians after which they will embark on the actual work.

Meanwhile, a number of Christians Uganda Picks talked to welcomed the idea saying it would solve the problem of people getting to the church very early to struggle to get seats inside.
