By Emmanuel Omona PaOkech

In a bid to promote the studies of their children, Parents of Abwole Primary school have decided to build  ten  grass thatched  houses for their teachers.

The Parents came  up with the idea during a meeting over the weekend in the school.

During the meeting ,the parents expressed their concern that some of the teachers come late every day which makes their students fail .

Francis Watdok Awori the Councilor 5 for Koro sub County where the school is found in Gulu district confirmed the initiative saying that out of 14 teachers in Abwole primary school, only 8 stay within the school.

Awori highly appreciated the parents for deciding to construct houses for the teachers.

He said that this will help the teachers stop  commuting from long distances on bicycles every morning.

Awori also said that teachers in Koro Sub County are facing the challenge of accommodation.

He added that since the government cannot construct teacher’s houses at once, it’s better for the parents to help teachers.
