Police in Ntenjeru sub county Mukono district are holding a couple  for allegedly neglecting their children.

These have been identified as Robert Masolo 26, a mechanic in Ntenjeru trading center and Saida Nuwagaba who is six months pregnant.

The officer in charge of family and child protection unit Ntenjeru police post, Prosy Kalombe told the press that  the duo neglected responsibility of taking care of Festo Wanono 3 years and Kisakye Nelima of one and half years.

Their arrest came after a  concerned resident identified as Willy Kizza informing the police that there are kids who were dumped by their parents at the home of an old lady and are about to die of hunger.

The mother of these kids has said that she was forced to divorce her husband because she was tired of being assaulted adding that when she tried to revisit them, her husband promised to cut her into pieces.

The officer in charge of crime investigations Ntenjeru police post Asuman Watongolo  said that they have finished their investigations and the two are to be taken to court.
