Over 1000 women turned up for cervical Cancer screening by the Reproductive health Uganda Gulu Branch in an exercise which ended last Saturday.

The cervical cancer screenings were being carried out in Pugwinyi parish in Patiko Sub County and Awere parish in Gulu district.

Filder Anecia the Reproductive health Centre manager told Uganda Picks that during the screening, they realized that there is still more need to screen the women.

Anecia also noted that more women preferred cervical cancer screening compared to family planning methods.

Anecia called on women to go to the hospital so that they may be screened on cervical cancer.

Cancer of the cervix is the commonest gynecological complication among women in Uganda.
