By Ahura Mujuni Mark

During a closed door meeting between President Museveni  and legislators  at State House last week ,it was revealed that Museveni wants no new districts created in the next three to four years but he is just urging MPs to allow the 25 newly-created districts approved by Cabinet.

According to a our source ,Museveni told the  MPs to lift the parliamentary blockade on the 25 newly-created districts. The MPs had  halted the operationalisation of the new districts because there was no government policy on district management and creation.

Museveni  reportedly told MPs  that they do not have powers to stop the operationalisation of the 25 new districts Cabinet approved last year.

He asked them to study the rationale behind the need for these districts and also scrutinise the operational cost instead of dismissing the pro-people proposal for new districts just because there are certain elements influencing debate in the committee.

Some of the new forned districts under contention include ,Bunyangabu, Butebo, Bugweri, Kasanda, Namisindwa, Kazo, Kapelebyong, Kyotera, Rubanda, Kakuuto, Pakwach, Kagadi, Omoro, Kyadondo, Rwampara, Nabilatuk, Kakumiro, Kitagwenda, Kilak and Rukiga.
