The Mufti of Uganda Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje today met Dr. Williams Vendly; the Secretary General of the New York based Religions for Peace International.
The meeting was held at the Headquarters of Uganda Muslim Supreme Council.
The two leaders discussed issues related to world peace and Inter Religious dialogue which they both promote at the international level.
The Mufti of Uganda who is also doubles as the Co-Chair of the African Council of Religious Leaders commended Dr. Vendly for reaching out to all world religions in his work of promoting dialogue among religions.
“On behalf of Muslims in Uganda, I commend you for working for humanity without segregation” He said
“We are blessed to have you because with your hard work and leadership, Uganda became the first country to form an Inter Religious Council” He added
Dr. Vendly who is in Uganda for the launch of the IRCU “Child Survival” Project applauded the Mufti of Uganda for being an outstanding peace promoter both locally and internationally level.
He stressed the need for dialogue saying that it remains the best way to promote co-existence among different cultures
