Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago has revealed that he has the hopes of being the president of Uganda.

Lukwago who has been embroiled in  power battles with the executive director of Kampala Capital City Authority  since he was elected the Mayor of Kampala revealed his ambitions  at the birthday party celebration of  Kamuli District Chairperson, Salaamu Musumba at Namwendwa.

Musumba was celebrating her 50th birthday.

When the Mayor was given an opportunity to address the celebrants ,he said ,

“I’m personally 42 years, and I’m the Lord Mayor of Kampala city. I have hope, that the next generation shall govern this country,” he said

The statement of the mayors ambitions attracted cheers from his audience.

“It is not me who wants … don’t implicate me. We have hope that as our colleagues go, a new generation will come on board” he said to even more cheers.

The birthday was also  attended by the party president Mugisha Muntu.
