Police in Kireka have arrested a 23 year old man  for  allegedly impersonating  a police officer to  rob people.

The suspect has been identified as Fred Katewu a resident of Banda Zone 10.

By the time of is arrest,  he had dressed in a full police uniform and was trying  to rob some people in Kireka by threatening to arrest them if they refused to give him money.

However, they became suspicious about him and informed the police and he was arrested.

In his defense, Katewu denied the allegation saying that it was the drunkerdness which forced him to impersonate himself as a police officer.

The officer in charge of Kireka police station Joseph Tulya has advised people especially those who move at night hours to be very vigilant.

He has noted that the suspect is to be taken to court and be charged with impersonation and robbery.
