Kenya had its peaceful presidential elections which ended with the winning of Uhuru Kenyatta and now, they are changing for the better.

The Kenya government has reduced the salary payments for the Members of parliament in a bid to reduce on the amount of money spent in the country.

Kenya parliamentPreviously, MPs received a monthly salary of Kshs850,000 which amounts up to 26, 311, 665 Ugandan shillings. They are now going to be paid Kshs530, 250 which is roughly Ugandan shillings 16, 413, 835.

Each parliamentary seating used to be paid for but the MPs will be paid for only four parliamentary seatings, the rest will be unpaid.

Official cars for the MPs will also no longer be bought by government. Before, government used to spend Ksh3m roughly Ugandan shillings 92, 864, 700. However, the MPs will now be given loans to buy the cars and have to pay back to the government with a 3% interest.
