The Inspector General of Police, Kale Kayihura has urged Parliament to support police in its venture to have better trained soldiers just like their counterparts, the military.
Gen. Kayihura made the comments while calling onto parliament to help with the construction of a National Training Academy for the police so as to improve the police skills.
“We need to put up a training center,” Kayihura said citing that the police has been approached to help in training several troops in the region. “We have been approached to train Somali troops and Sudan troops but we cannot because we lack the resource,” he added.
If the academy is set up, it will improve the skills of the police men and also help have efficient work in and around the country.
