The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton accidentally let it slip that she is expecting a baby girl!
While greeting well wiser in Grimsby, England, Middleton thanked a woman who handed her a teddy bear and accidentally let it slip that she was expecting a baby girl. “Thank you, I’ll take that for my d…” she said before stopping herself. Had it been a son, she would have said ‘for my s…,’ fill in the blanks.
Asked if she meant daughter, Middleton said, “We’re not telling.”
Being a girl means she might as well inherit the throne. Queen Elizabeth on 9th January 2013 decreed that even if it is a girl, she will be able to take over the throne, may be the Queen knew? “The Queen has been pleased by Letters Patent under the Great Seal of the Realm dated 31 December 2012 to declare that all the children of the eldest son of the Prince of Wales should have and enjoy the style, title and attribute of royal highness with the titular dignity of Prince or Princess prefixed to their Christian names or with such other titles of honor,” the London Gazette published.
This decision overturns a decree made by Queen Elizabeth’s grandfather George V in 1917, which declared the eldest son of the Prince of Wales to be first in line of succession.
However, the royal family has not yet confirmed if it is indeed a girl although it will be confirmed when Middleton gives birth, as the tradition for the British royal family.
