The Inspector General of Police Kale Kayihura has urged all traders at old port bell road to stop their plans of demonstrations because he is planning to meet them on Saturday this week to solve their problems.

The Traders had planned to hold a massive demonstration with the purpose of forcing Kampala RDC Pimbaza Hashaka to explain the affairs of their working conditions.

Speaking to the traders at their work place along old port bell road yesterday, Kampala metropolitan commander Felix Kaweesi said that the IGP has set Saturday this week to talk to them and find a solution to their problem and assured them of maximum security at their work place but also advised them to always use lawful means to solve their problems.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the traders, Abby Mugumba stated that the traders should be given a chance to develop their area because they have huge long term plans of developing their work place however demanded government to consider extending loans to them just as it has done to other market vendors.
