For three days now , Gulu town has been affected by petrol shortage which has forced the prices to shoot up due to high demand.

Most of the petrol stations in Gulu town have hiked the prices ranging from 4,000 to 4,300 shillings per litre.

A week ago, a litre of petrol was sold between 3,800 and 3,900 shillings.

In the black market, a litre is sold between 6,000 to 8,000 shillings.

A pump attendant who spoke on anonymity to Uganda Picks said that they were expecting petrol last night but the truck has not yet reached the district.

However, Diesel prices have remained stable with a litre going for sh3,100 and sh3,220.
