The Gulu Grade I Magistrate’s Court has Granted Bail to the deputy speaker for Gulu District Local Government, Rose Halima.

Halima who is being accused by her former Boyfriend of allegedly stealing 5 Million shillings was remanded last week to Gulu Central Prison by the Gulu Grade Two  Magistrate, Saidi Barigye.

During the hearing on Monday Samuel Pakinya alleged that his money disappeared from his house after Halima and others beat him from his house.

Court presided over by the Grade one Magistrate ,Joseph Angole found out that Pakinya who is a contractor was also operating without a physical Office and that he was cohabiting with Halima yet he was legally married.

Pakinya also told court that he wanted to sort the matter outside court saying that he was being threatened by the relatives and friends of the accused.

The Grade I Magistrate granted bail to Halima at a fee of 500,000 shillings cash.

Charles Achula and Richard Irwenyo, the DEO of Nwoya district stood sureties for Halima.
