Government will tomorrow on the International Women’s Day award twenty seven women activists who have made a contribution towards the fight for women rights.
Speaking to parliamentary reporters, the chairperson of Uganda women parliamentary association (UWOPA) Betty Among applauded government for reorganizing women who fought for the rights of other women in Uganda.
Among women to be awarded include; Rodah Kalema, Grace Mpanga, Sarah Ntiro, Namirembe Bitamazire, Rebecca Kadaga, Specioza Kazibwe and Nabirah Naggayi Ssempala among others.
The national women’s Day will be celebrated in Nakasongola district and president Museveni will preside over the celebrations.
