The body of the first deputy prime minister, Eriya Kategaya is expected in parliament today at 10:00am.

kategaya eriyaThe body will be in parliament at 10:00am for public viewing according to Helen Kaweesi, the parliament spokesperson. She said that the public will be allowed to view the body which will be in the lobby for viewing. At 2pm, it will be taken into parliament where a special seating will be held. During this time, members of parliament will be allowed to say a thing or two about the deceased.

After the special seating, Kategaya’s body will be taken back to his home where it will be taken from tomorrow for prayers before being transported to his home district in Ntungamo where he will be laid to rest.

Eriya Kategaya passed away on Saturday 2nd March in Nairobi at Nairobi hospital were he was being treated for deep vein thrombosis. His body was transferred to Uganda from Kenya yesterday, 4th March and was received at Entebbe airport by Gen. Aronda Nyakairima, Gen. Kale Kayihura alongside his family and friends and the Uganda police.
