The national prayers for the late first deputy prime minister, Eriya Kategaya have kicked off at Kololo Jubilee grounds.

Eriya-Kategaya1Looked at a national hero, Eriya Kategaya, at the time of his death was the minister of East African Affairs and was aged 70.

His body has just arrived at the grounds. All pall bearers are brigadiers. The ceremony is going to be presided over by the newly installed Archbishop, Stanley Ntagali.

The Rt. Hon. Brig. Eriya Kategaya was born in July 1945 in Itojo, Ntungamo district and trained as a lawyer. One of his sons has just finished paying a tribute to his father.

All roads leading to Kololo are partly blocked as the country mourns Kategaya.

The second reading for the service was taken from 2Tim 4:5-8.

Kategaya died Saturday 3rd march in Nairobi where he was being treated for thrombosis.
