Gunfire rocked the high way between Elegu and Bibya trading centers when about six  suspected highway robbers attempted to rob a Bus from Kampala.

The Police in charge of traffic along the Great North road, Steven Odongkara told the press on Friday  that the six  suspected robbers attempted to stop a Kampala Coach bus just a few kilometers after it had left Bibya trading centre.

He said that the bus did not stop and the suspected robberies fired bullets at the bus unfortunately no one was hurt.

Odongkara said that out of the six thugs , they managed to arrest two  who are in their custody at Elegu police station.

Odongkara identified the two suspects as Molle Morenga 23 and Moris Nathio 28 .By Press time ,the  police  was  still trying to establish their Citizenship.

The traffic police Officer also noted that there were several cases of robbery along the high way which he said , will not be taken lightly.

He noted that a few days back , a motorcycle registration number EE2686 MC which belongs to Johnbosco Mukasa was stolen.
