The High Court in Kampala made its ruling on the case where the NRM Rebel MPs petitioned against the party’s disciplinary action against them
The court ruled that the NRM party should proceed with the with the disciplinary hearing of ‘rebel’ MPs.
Wilfred Niwagaba (Ndorwa East), Theodore Ssekikubo (Lwemiyaga) and Barnabas Tinkasiimire (Buyaga West) dragged their party to court over allegations that they were not obeying party regulations and risked being expelled; they wanted court to block their party from hearing the disciplinary proceedings against them.
The MPs accused the committee of not serving them with the particulars of the complaints against them and yet it was proceeding in their absence though they would have wanted to defend themselves.
