As Uganda joins the rest of the world this Friday to commemorate the international women’s day, the center for Domestic violence prevention partnering with other civil society organization have  organized a night vigil tomorrow to celebrate and remember those women who have lost lives as result of domestic violence.

The event will take place at Kitante Primary School play ground starting at 4:30 PM.

Despite achievements towards equal rights of women, the centre says violence against women in general continue to hinder women’s economic, social and political empowerment.

The national women’s Day celebration main cerebration will take place at Nakasongola.
