Residents of Namayiba village in conjunction with the boda boda cyclists have mysteriously lynched to death unidentified motor cycle robber.
It is alleged that the deceased pretended to be a passenger and boarded a boda boda belonging to one Benon Kibuuka from Kyetume stage heading to Lweza but on the way, he turned against him and hit him on the head with a hammer and he after took off with his motor cycle hoping that he had died.
However, Kibuuka contacted his colleagues who followed this robber and rounded him up at Namayiba trading center, tied him and beat him up to death.
Residents say that they are tired of reporting robbers to police because whenever they do so, no action is taken by police.
The officer in charge of crime investigations Mukono police station, Henry Mugumya said that it is not true that police doesn’t take action when cases are reported adding that complainants do not want to go to police to produce evidence such that the suspects are charged.
He added that the body of the deceased has been taken to Mulago hospital as police carries its investigations.
