Former Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) leader, Dr. Kizza Besigye claims his mobile phones have been confiscated by police and refusing him from communicating with his fans.

Yesterday, Dr. Besigye was arrested as he left home to head for the Kololo Jubilee grounds for the requiem service. Kampala metropolitan police spokesperson, Ibin Senkumbi said that the reason for his arrest was because the police receives information indicating that he would cause chaos that is why he is arrested.

Yesterday, the Lord Mayor had scheduled a rally at Kawempe but police arrived at his home early and put him under house arrest to prevent him from leaving home to attend the rally.

Dr. Besigye says it is not fair that the police refuses him from carrying out his daily activities.

Asked about confiscating his phones, Mr. Senkumbi said he did not know about it but would consult to find out if it is true. Dr. Besigye yesterday spent the night at Kira police station but was released today without any charges filed against him.
