Kenya’s Inspector General of Police, David Kimaiyo has said that  six  of  Mombasa Republican Council (MRC) members have been killed after they killed four policemen early on Monday as voting for the new president of Kenya kicked off.

Kismaiyo says the search for other members of the group is on . A group of over 200 people, suspected to be members of MRC attacked a police station in Mombasa , hacking the police officers, as well as 6 other civilians.

Kimaiyo reveals that 6 MRC members have also been killed as police hunts for other assailants.

Meanwhile  security has been tightened to prevent further killing of people.
