Three members of Mombasa Republican Council (MRC) suspected of carrying out the murders of the 19 people in Mombasa including five police officers on election day at 2am are expected to appear in court today.

Police placed the murders on the members of MRC who had already promised they disrupt the elections. The three suspects are to appear in court today at the Mombasa High Court to answer to murder charges.  They were arrested yesterday after the murders.

mombasaDPP Keriako Tobiko says he is satisfied with the charges after his office received the file yesterday. Tobiko had assembled 30 prosecuting counsel to be on call 24 hours before, during and after the General Election.

Meanwhile, David Kimayio called onto anyone with information on the MRC to communicate to the police to bring to justice the murders of the deceased. He called onto the people to keep calm and peace, even after the winner of the elections is announced. He made the comments during a press conference.

Vote counting is still going on in Kenya as the entire world waits for the results to be announced officially in the country although Uhuru Kenyatta is leading with a 54% margin as opposed to Raila Odinga’s 41%.
