World Vision has embarked on a new Chapter of Cervical cancer treatment among women in Kyankwanzi district.
Today ,thousands of women tested the cervical cancer during an event held Ntwetwe Town Council in Kyankwanzi district.
Dr.Kadaaga Francis who carried out the exercise attributed the increasing numbers of infection to the lack of awareness and regular seeking of medical services especially among the rural women.
Over 90% of the women who tested positive were from deep in the villages because of limited access to medical facilities.
The District Health Officer Kyankwanzi Dr. John Bosco Sserebe said that the interventions such as the one organized by World Vision helps them rate the levels of medical service delivery in the district.
Meanwhile the District Chairperson , Leopold Kinene acknowledged the role played by the NGO and the transformation such roles have had in the lives of the people in the entire district.He however urged it to extend their operations beyond sub counties.
Elsewhere the Program Manager of World Vision in Kiboga and Kyankwanzi William Mubiru has attributed the increasing cases of cervical cancer among women to lack of facilities, enough interventions and preventive measures towards curbing such diseases.
