An 18 year old woman was on Wednesday charged by the Nakawa Magistrates court  for dumping her four week-old born baby in a pit latrine.

Court presided over by  chief Magistrate, Joy Kabaje heard that Nagudi Fatina a resident of Kasokoso villaga ,Wakiso district  tried to kill  of her own daughter Shamira Namata by throwing her in a pit latrine.

The incident occurred on  October 26, 2012 where Nagudi dumped  her daughter in a neighbour’s pit latrine.The baby was however saved by neighbors who heard her crying .

Nagudi told court  that she said she did not intend to kill  her own baby.She claimed that  she did not realize what she was doing until she saw that she had  dumped the baby in the pit.

She was released on court bond of sh600, 000, not cash and told  to go pick her baby from Sanyu baby’s Home where she is being taken care of.

Nagudi is expected to report to court with the Baby every Friday .
