Yesterday, Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) impounded 98 buses belonging to the Pioneer Easy Bus Company over unpaid taxes worth sh8b and promised to auction them off if they did not clear the bill within two days.

URA debt collector, Abdu Salaam Waiswa has now come out to say URA is going to close down more companies which have failed to pay their taxes. He said a lot of money is lost due to tax evasion and the tax collecting company is going to be more strict when it comes to collecting its revenues.

Mr. Waiswa promised that more companies are going to be closed down because of tax evasion. He said the daily operations of big companies are going to be attached to properties of those companies which have failed to pay their taxes.
