Following the improved performance in recorded in the just released 2012 Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE), Public Universities warn that they are to raise entry points for different courses .
Performance in the 2012 UACE improved slightly compared to 2011. The results released in Tuesday indicated that 99.3 per cent of the candidates qualified for the UACE award compared to 99.2 per cent in 2011.
With this more students qualify to join university compared to last year . With this ,Makerere University deputy academic registrar, Charles Sentongo told the press yesterday that entry to university will becomes more competitive because of the good performance .
“There will be a small change in cutoffs as long as UNEB reports improved performance. The problem is that the points may go up but we still take the same number of 4, 000 government sponsors,” he said
