The much awaited friendly match between Rwanda ad Uganda ended with a 2-2 draw. Said Kyeyune scored Uganda Cranes’ first goal and the first half game ended 1-1.
Cranes Coach Bobby Williamson replaced Savio Kabugo with Kawooya Fahad and Tonny Odur going in for Brian Umony and as they stepped in the second half ,Dan Sserunkuuma scored the Crane’s second goal against Rwanda in the 66th minute
Tonny Odur was instrumental in the second half with his efforts yielding results in the 82nd minute when he got fouled in the box to earn Uganda a lead through a well taken penalty by Gor Mahia striker Dan Sserunkuuma. The home boys did not however lose hope as they kept fighting until the 82nd minute when Papy Sibomana equalized to send the game into a 2-2 draw.
The match was officiated by Israel Mujuni, Hamis Changwalu and Jesse Erasmo all from Tanzania. The standby referee was Abobukar Nkejimana from Burundi. The Cranes team returns Thursday morning.
Cranes Line up included Abel Dhaira (Hamza Muwonge), Simeon Masaba, Kavuma Habib, Savio Kabugo (Kawooya Fahad), Guma Denis, Wasswa Hassan (Kavuma Willy), Sserunkuuma Dan 66’, Sserumaga Mike (Mpande Joseph), Kyeyune Said 30’, Umony Brian (Tonny Odur) and Hamis Kiiza (Feni Ali).
