Uganda will this year host the 2013 East African community inter-parliamentary football and netball tournaments.
This was announced by the captain of the Uganda parliament football club who also doubles as the Ntenjeru south MP Patrick Nsanja at the floor of parliament while officially handing the East African community inter-parliamentary football championship trophy to parliament.
The East African community inter-parliamentary football and netball tournament is played annually by MPs in the region.
Uganda parliament football retained the trophy after defeating the East African Legislative Assembly parliament on penalty shoot up at Nyayo stadium in Kenya’s capital Nairobi while the Uganda parliament netball club was defeated by Tanzania parliament.
During the tournament in Nairobi last year, Aruu county MP Odonga Otto was given a golden boot for being a top scorer of the tournament.
The patron of both Uganda parliament football and netball clubs speaker Rebecca Kadaga while receiving officially the trophies called upon both the teams managers to prepare the budget for the 2013 tournaments to enable Uganda parliament organize and defend the trophies.
