The Source of River Nile has been named among the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa.The tourism site in Jinja received the international recognition on Monday this week.
Uganda’s minister of tourism, wildlife and heritage,Maria Mutagamba, has hailed the recognition by the The Seven Wonders of Africa Project which was initiated in 2008 by Texas-based Dr Philip Imler with an aim of identifying seven natural wonders on the African continent and protect them.
The other natural wonders recognized by the project include: Mt. Kilimanjaro (the tallest standing mountain in Africa), The Red Sea, Sahara Desert, Okavango Delta in Botswana, and the Serengeti migration .
