Following the alarming cases of fire outbreaks in Schools, the secretary for Education and Health for Gulu district has encouraged the Teachers on duty to check all the students thoroughly for things which easily cause fire outbreaks .

John Okwonga  has urged teachers assigned on duty to  check the belongings of learners and remove matchboxes, paraffin, candle and Lamps since when misused cause fire outbreaks.

Okwonga noted that if such items are not removed from students , fire outbreaks will continue in schools.

Schools all over the country open officially today for the first term.
