The speaker of parliament Rebecca Kadaga has defended the parliament’s decision to fire some Observer journalists from covering news at parliament saying the institution has its own rules and regulations.
The angry speaker Kadaga said this at the floor of parliament when she was responding to the leader of the opposition Nandala Mafabi who was putting her to task to why she fired observer journalists from covering parliament.
“You go and discuss the issues of journalists with the public relations office at parliament. Parliament is not a market place, it has its own Rules and regulations” The speaker said
Last month the speaker fired the observer journalists on grounds that they filled inaccurate articles which they did not bother to cross check for correctness.
The observer published two false stories one about the House recall and another one about a clash between Kadaga Oulanyah in relation to the petition.
