S.5 school selections is going to end today after schools from across the country gathered at Wonder-world in Kasanga for the process.

The process started yesterday. Most schools maintained their cut off points at a minimum due to the general poor performance in the country. However, most top schools maintained the points between 10 to 18.

Some of the best performing schools in the O’level results 2012 were St. Mary’s, Namagunga, St. Mary’s SSS Kitende, Uganda Martyrs SS, Namugongo and Ntare School who maintained their cut off points at 11 for Namagunga, Kitende and Namagunga at 12 & 13, and Ntare at 17.

Of the 262, 987 students who sat for their UCE examinations in 2012 results of 1,197 students’ results were withheld due to examination malpractice. Wakiso was the best performing district in the whole entire country.

S.5 students are expected to report for their first term on March 4th.
