UCE Results 2012  have been released  by the Ministry of Education and sports. According to Uganda National Examination Executive Secretary ,Mathew Bukenya ,overall performance dropped compared to UCE examination  2011.

Students who passed in Division one has reduced from 8.5% in 2011 to 7.2% last year, 2012. The performance in Division two has also reduced from 26% to 16% in 2012.

Performance in Science subjects was not good and Bukenya has called for more efforts to improve in science subjects.

Meanwhile Female students  performed better in English than male candidates ,and  generally poor performance was recorded in the  English language .

Examination malpractice was registered and consequently results of over 1127 students were withheld by UNEB pending investigations.On a good note however malpractice however dropped by 30% .

The Minsiter of Education Jessica Alupo has also  directed UNEB to withdraw examination centers from  schools which have been persistently been associated with examination malpractice.
