Security has been beefed up in Kayunga mainly to calm down the situation of angry residents demonstrating against bad roads in the area.

The demonstration kicked off on mid-day to date by parading huge stones, tree stems, burning bike & car tyres along River Nabuganyi to Kayunga Road in Mutukula village attracting a number of residents from different villages accusing their leaders of not addressing their concerns.

Some protesters have said that  for time immemorial, they have been addressing the concern of impassable roads to their respective leadersamong many other issues but all in vain thus restarted development in the area.

They have noted that this has forced them to wage a demonstration thinking that it might be the only means if communications current leaders listen to thus putting businesses & transportation on a stand still.

Efforts to talk to the area MP have been made & he noted that all the necessary  steps are finilized by UNRA to set this road to standard urging residents to stay calm. He also revealed that after completion of the road, it shall act as another Eastern route connecting different areas in the East and beyond to the rest of the country.
