President Yoweri Museveni  has banned further land evictions in the country  and ordered the repossession of land by those who were evicted.

The president will today meet journalist at his country home in Rwakitura where he will elaborate on his decision  and give the way forward after the halt of land evictions.This was confirmed by the  minister of Lands, Housing and Urban Development ,Daudi Migereko on Monday .

However , the Shadow State Minister for Lands, Ibrahim Semujju Nganda  has condemned that president’s decision to block land evictions arguing that it will cause more problems to the people and government itslef .

Nganda  blames Uganda’s land tenure system  which he says is dualist in nature and has resulted into land  conflict s and ownership.
