Member of Parliament for Bukoto South, Matthias Nsubuga has asked president Museveni to immediately stop putting on Army uniform while attending private events.
Hon Nsubuga told reporters at parliament today that president Museveni stopped from serving the Army long time ago but he has consistently continued to put on Army attires.
“President Museveni should stop attending different meetings in Army uniforms. Uganda is no longer a military government.Mr Museveni always put on Army uniform with the purpose of intimidating Ugandans”Hon Nsubuga noted
Hon Nsubuga added that Mr Museveni should take the example of his fellow colleagues the presidents of other East African countries who stopped putting on Army uniforms.
“Tanzania president was a full colonel but he stopped from wearing Army uniform long time ago . President Kagame was also a serious soldier stopped as well .” He added
” It was very bad for president Museveni to attend the burial of the late James Mulwana in Army attire.” the MP added
