Police is seeking criminal summons which will seek the arrest of Mathias Mpunga, Dr. Kizza Besigye, Mukasa Kivumbi, Ingrid Turinawe and Basalirwa Assuman.

In addition, police wants to file a case against them in court for disobedience of lawful orders.

mpungaThe named persons belonging to pressure group, For God and My Country (4GC) failed to answer to police summons on Monday which is now forcing police to go ahead and file criminal summons. If approved, they will be arrested anywhere they are in the country without any questions.

Vincet Sekatte, the Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Spokesperson said this was not the first time that the group disobeys police summons but this time round, they were willing to go and seek a criminal summons. “We will get criminal summons,” Mr. Sekatte said. “This is not the first time they are disobeying police summons,” he added.

However, Mathia Mpunga said it was better they dealt with the case in court than to waste their time at police yet there was nothing the police was going to tell them there.
